OmniPlan 1.6.1 rc 1 Released!

Well to keep the releases coming today, OmniPlan 1.6.1 rc 1 is now available!

This is essentially the same as beta 1 with the exception that the beta expiration has been extended.

Since version 1.6, we’ve fixed a bug where copying tasks within a project could create duplicate resources. Also, OmniPlan no longer hangs while writing iCalendar data with the “One even per work period” option if uncompleted work is assigned to a resource with no future scheduled work periods. Last but not least, HTML Task and Resource List exports should now always be nicely formatted using a Cascading Style Sheet (CSS). In prior versions, the stylesheet was omitted when following an HTML Full Report export.

Please keep in mind that this version is still in development so feedback is encouraged and we apologize if it breaks your computer, corrupts your files, or ruins your weekend.

OmniWeb 5.8 Final has emerged!

It’s been available as a sneaky peek release for some time now. Well, we decided it was time to make a final release and share it with the non sneaky peek world. OmniWeb 5.8 is based on the same version of WebKit in use by Safari 3.1.x and shares the same features and security enhancements. We also snuck in a few other small bug fixes as well as additional tweaking to the toolbar icons, see the complete release notes for more details and download links.

OmniPlan 1.5.1 rc 4 released!

OmniPlan 1.5.1 rc 4 is now available and is a free update for existing OmniPlan 1.x owners. By now, you’ve probably already updated to OmniPlan 1.5 but if you haven’t and you’re on Mac OS X Leopard, we highly recommend that you do so as soon as possible.

Highlights include additional fixes to prevent undo stack corruption. The drawing issue with dependency lines that appeared in rc 3 has also been corrected.

This version also includes some other bug fixes and enhancements (far too many to list here). To learn more about the changes in 1.5.1 rc 4, please see the release notes for more details!

Please keep in mind that this release is still under development. Your feedback will help us improve the software, and we apologize if it breaks your computer, corrupts your files, and ruins your weekend. A more stable release is also available. OmniWeb 5.7 now available!

We’re happy to announce the final release for OmniWeb 5.7. If you have not been following our beta releases there are a number of updates to the interface and underlying engine, you can find a complete list of what’s new on our downloads page. We recommend this release for all users as it improves site compatibility and stability in many areas. Enjoy!

OmniWeb 5.7 beta 2 released!

OmniWeb 5.7 now has a second beta with a few changes that we hope many will find useful. First if you like your OmniWeb in something other than English, our generous volunteers have given us updates to both the French and Chinese localizations. Regardless of the language you speak, we’ve also fixed a crash that could occur when pressing undo after closing a tab. Enjoy beta 2!

Please say hello to OmniWeb 5.7 beta 1! If you’ve been using our sneaky peeks of 5.7 you may have already seen most of these features go by, however for those that haven’t there is a tasty list of bug fixes and small enhancements that we’ve put into this release. New icons, security enhancements improvements to stability and increased performance are all on the plate. Oh and you can send the contents of a page via email now if that’s the sort of thing you like to do. Take a look at the complete list and download here.

OmniWeb 5.6 now available!

Okay okay. I admit it. If you’ve been following along with our sneaky peeks during 5.6 development there isn’t a whole lot new here. But I must take this opportunity to thank all of you testers out there because none of this would be possible without you.

But! If you haven’t been running the sneaky peeks, this little bit of news that OmniWeb 5.6 is now totally complete and ready for your downloading slash browsing slash enjoying pleasure may be just the bit of news you need to top your day! New updated rendering engine (about a year and a half of development has gone into this thanks to the WebKit crew). Inline PDF support, Web Inspector, support for the Drosera JavaScript debugger, improved JavaScript and plug-in support are all there. Bug fixes to syncing the UI and bookmarks, crashes and other stability issues have been corrected. We’ve even made sure that upgrading to leopard will go smoothly for you. So if you’ve experienced some performance problems, have had trouble displaying pages or, you know, plan to upgrade your OS this Friday…

Hi OmniWeb, we let you sit in the corner for a little too long, sorry about that. The fine folks at WebKit.org have been doing some amazing work and we thought you might like to play with it. Come out of the corner, stretch your legs and lets see how things go!

After your time away, I hope you’ll get along better with JavaScript and plug-ins like Speed Download. Not to mention all those random sites that you just didn’t see eye to eye with. We promise to help you along the way but in the meantime why don’t you head on over to the Sneaky Peek page we made up for you.
