Whoa, $100,000 in under five days!

I just wanted to write a quick note to thank you all for your support! In less than five days, we’ve already received over $100,000 in preorders for OmniFocus, making this one of our strongest product launches of all time.
We’re still hard at work (as you can see if you’ve been following along with the multiple beta updates we’re pushing out each day)–but it’s inspiring to see that the time and resources our team has invested into this over the last 16 months has earned your vote of confidence.
Thank you!
Lots of “CrazyBusy” folks looking for your help. Still sorting OmniFocus out but it looks VERY promising. Next manual update, etc. please let us know how to Sync OmniFocus metadata between Macs (like .Mac sycnh with Yojimbo and MacJournal I hope, I hope).

Wow- a company that thanks it’s purchasers! Omni is awesome!
I hope OmniFocus continues to do well! I love it so far! [Printing is a God-send- thank you for finally including it!!]
Cheers!

I was trying to wrap my head around the sort of tool I could use to manage the masses of small tasks I have to deal with daily, and then as if on cue, John Gruber blogged about OmniFocus on DaringFireball and wham! Steve’s a happy guy. I’ll second the request for multiple machine syncing, but thank you for what you’ve already done - it’s excellent. Simple and excellent.

If I have OmniFocus on two machines and have them both syncing to iCal/.Mac, will the tasks and projects stay in alignment between the two computers, or will I cause a rift in the space/time continuum? I guess you can tell which I want to accomplish. Right?
By John on 11.21.07 3:19 pm
I mentioned this in another comment, but just to be safe, I’m wondering about about OmniFocus showing the total estimated time per project and also per task view. So I could see how much total estimated time my tasks are for today, tomorrow, the week, and so on. For scheduling purposes that would be great. Maybe it’s already in OmniFocus and I just haven’t figured out how to see it yet?

Under $20? I’m an education user of Omni Outliner Pro, and I got OmniFocus for $18.95! How ’bout that?

Damn. You guys are like… a tasty sauce that has the creamy rich flavor of excellent, complimented by the tangy zest of freshly-shaved awesome.

I’ve bought it instantly on pre-order, because full price seemed too expensive.
By kL on 11.22.07 7:20 am
@Joe: I think that’s the strangest and most brilliant compliment I’ve ever seen.
@Ken, Omni, et al: Thanks for the opportunity to be part of this process; it’s inspiring to know that a developer out there seriously cares about it’s customers.

So…if I can’t “sync” between multiple machines yet, how about letting me keep all of the OmniFocus data files on my iDisk, to be shared among computers all pointing to the same file? Eh? Eh?
By John on 11.23.07 9:14 am
John, you can technically do this (or could last I checked) but it involves creating some symlinks — there’s more details on our forums.

Add a Timer. Actions have an “Estimated Time”. It will be very helpful to track “Actual Time” using a simple stopwatch-like interface. Sometimes we forget to click the pause button before heading to the coffee machine so editing the recorded times using the Inspector will be needed also.

You’ve done a great job. I have watched the progress of development as a alpha tester - and am proud owner of a licence for the 1.0 release. It was rapid, just like magic. You are the modern wizards…

You’re welcome, Omni.
By Kamen on 12.01.07 8:08 pm
Oh, great. Now you’ll be bought by some uncool company that charges for an incremental upgrade to fix bugs (and for napkins in the lunchroom), and reformats your site to look like some cheap clipart vendor.
You’ll see. They’ll build the ability to listen to MP3s into all the apps, and go Windows-only.

Kudos Ken!
As a die hard user of Omni Outliner, it would be great for Omni to show us how to integrate all of the Omni products during the course of a day or project.
A note on Outliner. I almost never use a word processing program! Outliner has streamlined and forced me to focus on crucial items as well as big picture items. Outliner’s interface is designed to distinguish these, so I can organize accordingly.
As a big picture guy who hates the details, I applaud Outliner, and look forward to using OmniFocus.
OmniGroup thinks the way I do…that is so kewl!

yes, but where is the manual??????????????
By mark on 12.07.07 2:59 am
The manual will ship with the 1.0 release on January 8.

I bought OmniFocus on pre-order (as many others have also) not because I think the full price is too expensive… but because I wanted to send my vote of confidence/encouragement to the development team ASAP. You’re doing great and important work!
Ever since I read David Allen’s GTD, I’ve been a convert. However, I immediately realized that, for me, a software approach would be best as opposed to going at it with paper lists. Finding the right software has been both elusive and frustrating until now… OmniFocus Rocks. Keep going. You have devoted fans!
For the level of enhanced productivity that OmniFocus delivers, I think the (regular) price is just right. Can wait to start using the official release. I appreciate all the hard work that went into this landmark piece of software.
